This weekend, there are over 80 festivals going on in Ohio, including some festivals I truly love like the Fair at New Boston (Springfield), the Ohio Renaissance Festival (Waynesville), the Perch, Peach, Pierogi and Polka Festival (Port Clinton), the Sweet Corn Festival (Millersport), Old Hilliardfest (Hillard), the Cleveland Oktoberfest (now over three weekends), and the Milan Melon Festival. With kids back in school and families more homebound after summer traveling, festivals really take off until the cooler weather gets hold of the north (and that’s when the southern state festivals will start to take off).
